Ten Recordings You Should Listen To - #5

Bryan Bergeron-Killough teaches guitar at PMAC as well as the summer Rock Camp and a new Songwriting course. He is a versatile teacher and performer, known for his interpretations of the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt as well as being lead guitarist for the rock band Groovechild. All about the music, Bryan offers a list of recommended listening and rather than commenting on each recording, lets the music speak for itself.

1) Smokin' At the Half Note - Winton Kelly with Wes Montgomery

2) Van Halen I - Van Halen

3) Intermodulation - Bill Evans and Jim Hall

4) The Goldberg Variations BWV 988 - J.S. Bach - Glenn Gould

5) Miles Smiles - Miles Davis

6) Charlie Parker (Verve Jazz Masters 15) - Charlie Parker

7) The Willies - Bill Frisell

8) A Go Go - John Scofield w/ Medeski, Martin, and Wood

9) Le Tombeau de Couperin - Maurice Ravel

Note from Russ: Bryan didn't specify a recording for this wonderful work, so I went with the Boston Symphony Orchestra version under the direction of Seji Ozawa.

10) Live In Cook County Jail - B.B. King
